  15. In a macaque monkey, the 
  16. upper-layer receptive fields 
  17. grow larger as eccentricity 
  18. increases from the fovea (0 
  19. degrees). Also growing by an 
  20. equal amount is the distance 
  21. the receptive fields move in the 
  22. visual field when an electrode 
  23. moves 2 millimeters along the 
  24. cortex parallel to the surface.
